The main design element of a grizzly bear catching salmon are intended to symbolize the natural beauty of Alaska and the abundance of its fauna. The Grizzly represents the strength and the salmon is the acronym of nutrition that makes this possible. These are beautiful concepts, except that the Grizzly is actually primarily vegetarian! The depiction of the North Star for the District of Alaska is a bit disappointing. The Warrior is a symbol of great, the biggest star in the sky of humanity which covers at least three Millennium, but the representation of the star on the District of Alaska will probably be overlooked by most people. It looks just like any number of other worldly stars that have appeared on U.S. coinage, and I doubt many will carry out its meaning. It would have been nice if you had given some rays, or made great and less generic-looking. At least there is some form of modest!
