This is not an error letter deleted! photos of Danny Chapman of xpcoins.com.the presidential dollars is proving to be a kind of currency with plenty of errors, including some about the edge lettering, but so far I have not seen a single instance of an error of "authentic" letter deleted "on eBay! Learn what is and what is not an error of letter come upon these presidential dollar coins and then follow my list of all confirmed important front and reverse Presidential Dollar error, including the edge lettering errors that were confirmed by experts. If you want to get up to speed on the basics of this coin, read all about the new presidential Dollar Coins. First of all, let's figure out what the correct edge and normal appearance of lettering is for a business strike (problem of circulation) Presidential Dollar. The edge lettering should be incused (cashed,) and run around the edge of the coin. No matter if the side of heads or tails is aimed at business strike dollars because the edge lettering is applied randomly, so that a currency with upwards to the lettering is not an edge lettering error! Is simply a normal variety, called by some as a presidential dollar "Type 2".

The most common mistake not-(next to flipped lettering) reported relatively to the so-called "letters, fallen" extra letters or numbers, and other writings "extra" Presidential Dollar edges. Although there are several legitimate and verified Washington Dollar edge lettering errors, most related oddities border letters are not reported errors, but post processing artifacts-mint. These mistakes-are not generally weak signs that resemble letters or where the edge lettering has one or more illegible or obscured letters. Most of these coins is damage from shock together during the edge lettering process itself, or a movement of large, heavy batches of finite coins at the Mint and beyond. Some of these brands are the result of coins made through currency counting and packaging machines.

Watch a few dozen or more presidential dollars under good magnification (8 x 10 x or so). Special attention for the lettering on these coins, and you will see quickly marks resembling file marks and other signs, such as signs that considers itself to be a sign of scholarship, contact mark, or "ding" If you saw it on the obverse or the reverse of the coin. You'll also see little squiggly type marks caused by coins rubbing together. All in all, you'll see many kinds of brands that appear regularly on the obverse and reverse of the coins, but because we're seeing these brands in a completely new context now about these presidential dollars literati edges, many people, hoping to find errors are seeing things "normal" as the edge lettering instead of errors. The best way to identify the edge Presidential Dollar lettering errors is to become very familiar with what is normal for these edges. As we know that the marks scholarship are normal for most types of coins, we need to learn what kinds of trademarks, dings and underscores are normal for new dollars. In General, if you delete the suspicion, extra, or doubled letter is not very clear and appropriately sized, probably not a mistake precious (assuming that is also an error at all!)

The so-called front and reverse "eliminated the letters" on the edge is actually only embossed letters and numbers from surfaces of other presidential dollars! These embossings are caused by coins are very hard knocks against others, that are really a "mistake" (some experts simply call "damages.") If you look closely, you'll see that the letter effigy or inverse, which shows at the edge is in reverse form or mirror image. This is because the effigy inverse so-called "deleted and shipboard letters" are simply from bumps against other currencies.

Another type of border easily confused lettering error is not the impression raised an additional letter on edge or surfaces that reflect the character of lettering Board. On-board, letters, or engraved, incused Act almost like currency dies and imparting raised impressions thereof on the edges and surfaces of other currencies, shockproof due to hard. Once again, unless the letter has a symmetric Or or other letter, will appear as a mirror image. It's not about "skip letters", but simply embossed letters from other currencies. Although these types of embossings are interesting, they must also be regarded as damage has been caused due to physical collection of coins. Sometimes you can even see the impression straight-line border currency right next to the letter highlights!

Now, because of not rare embossings taking place on these presidential dollars, it will probably require an expert authenticate an error real "letter deleted". A letter from straight or inverse, appearing in incused (cashed in) form on straight or reverse, is a promising sign of a real "letter to eliminate" type of error, but be sure to exclude any occurrences of edge-letters-to-surfaces and surface-letters-Edge-to-edge mark as "damage relief letter."

I want to thank Tom DeLorey and Ken Potter, fiorini, both of whom gave me a significant help in correcting errors in an earlier version of this article, and that helped me understand the things that we're seeing on this type of coin new and fascinating. Special thanks to Tom DeLorey for coining the term "embossed letters" to describe these interesting "additional letter" non-errors.
