Al Jefferson currency values not much unless they are in condition virtually identification (AU-50, about uncirculated). However, in the interest of the respondents to the person who collected them from circulation, or run through a stash somewhere, I offer the following table of values for al Jefferson nickels to EF-40 (described above). To qualify for EF-40, the currency should still have clear lines in the hair, the eyebrow should be clearly defined and the cheekbones should have only slight wear. On the back, you should be able to make the base of the triangle under the dome. Note that these values are primarily guidelines to help you determine whether you have rare coins. If nickel are still identifying, coin values may be five times higher or more. If they are quite worn, are worth much less currency prices. If the steps are clearly defined of Monticello on samples prior to 1992, the currency goes a premium. The position of the Mint, if the currency has one, are available for nickel date:

Jefferson Nickels dated 1971 or subsequently, with the mint mark S, are always proof coins and are not listed in this table of values of currency circulation coins.
