The coin values in this price guide for Buffalo (aka Indian Head) Nickels are for specimens that grade similar to this one.

Values of currency Buffalo Nickels are listed in table below. All Buffalo Nickels (also called Indian Head Nickels) who have a readable date are worth at least seven times their face value (thirty-five cents), unless they are almost completely worn out or badly damaged. Buffalo Nickels without dates are not generally collectible unless clearly show a type of rare varieties, as the "three-legged Buffalo," but even then their value is greatly reduced. Some Buffalo Nickels, called key dates, are hundreds, even thousands of times from face value! Find out how your Buffalo Nickels are worth of value in this table. Note that these are guidelines. To get the current prices of today's market, you must contact a dealer of currency.

Prices in this table are about what a dealer will give you for coins grade medium type typically found in old shoe boxes, vases, Whitman folders, reseller "lots undifferentiated", etc. (image above for an example of "middle grade.")   If coins are still identifying, or very little wear, the value might be 10 to 12 times higher or more.  The mint mark, if the currency is one, is just under five cents on the back.
